Our Guest Series is back for 2013!  For January and February The Fifth Corner Photo Gallery is pleased to feature the works of Yvonne Lashmett, an artist and photographer from Durango, Colorado.  

Yvonne has worked for the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad since 1985, so it’s no surprise that trains have become her passion.  She has many years of experience drawing and photographing trains, train depots, water tanks and anything else pertaining to trains.  In addition, churches, abandoned buildings and ghost towns are subjects of many of her works. Through her photographs Yvonne hopes to preserve the history and memories of trains and old buildings.

Previously Yvonne was a newspaper stringer photographer in New York State and helped cover the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid. Her photographs have appeared in numerous national publications including Field & Stream, USA Today, Colorado Life Magazine, and United Hemisphere as well as many local publications, several books and even a tram in Switzerland!

We hope you will come and meet Yvonne at the opening reception on Friday, January 11, from 5-7 p.m.
